Very pleased to say that the second offering from the Convergence Quartet is now out on Clean Feed. It’s a studio recording, made after 10 consecutive tour dates last year, so I think it sounds pretty good…it certainly represents an advance on the first record, and I’m definitely proud of it…more info here.

To launch it, we are meeting in Portugal, to play at the Coimbra International Jazz Festival…should be fun!

Speaking of fun, just back from three European gigs with Mulatu Astatke…Poland, Norway, and Italy. Here’s some footage from Italy…check out Byron Wallen’s spectacular solo on ‘Yekermo Sew’…difficult to tell from this recording, but the audience went crazy for this one!
